139 Days

I noticed on the countdown that there are 139 days until the start of the 100 mile run for Malia. I have a 50 mile race quickly approaching on October 13th that should be a good indication of how much more work I have to do to work up to 100 miles.

I am still looking for other runners to come out and support Malia! Also, it would be nice to have a few pacers lined up for the last 40 miles or so. Let me know if you are interested. Check out Malia's website and see what neat events are happening to support her fight against Neuroblastoma.

Go Malia!

Saturday Long Run

This week has been unseasonably warm in San Diego. It hasn't really been a factor during my early morning runs this week. This morning however, the sun came up quickly and didn't let up during my long run which made it a bit more difficult. I once was adapted to the humid Florida heat, but after more than three years on the west coast I am no longer acclimated to warmer runs.

I managed to slog through, drinking 2 Liters of water. Despite the heat, I cannot deny that it is beautiful outside today. The way the sun shone on the ocean made the water appear deep blue. There were so many people at the beach and boats were everywhere on the water. Everyone was just trying to enjoy the beautiful day.

So while not ideal for a four hour run, I am thankful that I have the opportunity to spend the day in the sun!

TGIF!

Happy Friday everyone! Not much has been new in terms of training. I am planning a 30 mile run tomorrow morning and will be sure to take pictures. Every time I have run the course it has been overcast and none of the photos have come out well so I am still working on photos of the running route.

Keep Malia in your thoughts and message me if you want to keep me company in January. Malia's website has some neat raffles and other fundraisers going on as well so check that out.

Sending a cancer crushing hello to everyone. Have a wonderful weekend!
