Happy Birthday Malia!

I wanted to wish Malia a very Happy 4th Birthday! I hope you have a wonderful day.

My 100 mile race training has been going well. I am continuing to train nearly everyday. The nice part of the training is that it is very simple. All that I have to do is get up and run.

Some landmarks of interest on my running route for the 100 mile run are: La Jolla Cove, Windansea Beach, Mitt Romney's home, and the house from The Real World San Diego (2011). So if you weren't feeling like running before--the scenery will be enough to distract you from your pain.

Again I wanted to wish Malia a HAPPY FOURTH BIRTHDAY!!!

Thank you for reading. Let's all get some running in for Malia!

Week One of 100 Mile Training

Tomorrow morning the journey to 100 miles will officially begin. On the schedule is an 8 mile run and some p90x if anyone wants to join! I am excited to begin training again after a week off. This week is not too demanding in terms of mileage. I will be totaling only 40 miles by the end of the week. My training will progess to 80+ mileage weeks as I get closer to January.
New developments in terms of run logistics: I will run with a balloon each loop and tie the balloon to a post at the end of Chelsea Avenue where I turn around to head back to La Jolla Village. On the last loop I will bring all of the balloons the final four miles and release them as I finish the 100th mile (sorry environmentalists!). I am also going to record videos periodically throughout the run to keep things interesting.

As the weeks wear on I need to keep the big picture in mind and work my hardest. The bigger picture being helping Malia crush cancer and raising awareness about her battle. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy Monday. Keep Malia and her family and your thoughts! http://www.maliacrushescancer.com/

Repping Malia during the Vermont City Marathon!
